FAQ

I have replaced the batteries in one part and now the system is not showing all data?
To pick up the WS-1510-IT signal you need to reset the system, please follow the below procedure (as per the quick start manual):
1. put new batteries in the rain sensor
2. put new batteries in the temp/RH/wind sensor
3. put new batteries in the screen

It should then show the outside data in a few seconds.

I am having problems with the rain sensor and am not sure if the data displayed is accurate?
The rain sensor when installed properly is very accurate.

Mounting: Is the rain gauge mounted level? If mounted with screws through the base, please be sure they are only snug and not too tight

Please see the following Rain Sensor Tips:
For best results, the rain sensor should be securely mounted onto a horizontal surface about 1 meter above the ground (or higher) and in an open area away from trees or
other coverings where rainfall may be reduced causing inaccurate low readings. CAUTION: if you are in a high wind area strong gusts can move the plastic rain tip sensor
inside giving rain results when you have had no rain, so place the gauge in a wind sheltered area with clear sky views, this might include putting it in the backyard below
the tree or fence line but with a clear sky view.

When securing into place, check that rain excess will not collect and store at the base of the unit but can flow out between the base and the mounting surface (test by
pouring clean water).

For testing purposes, very slowly pour a small amount of clean water into the rain sensor funnel. The water will act as rainfall and will be received and displayed at the
base station i.e. when the reading interval is reached.

Also remember while installing the gauge the action in the sensor will be tipping and adding rainfall figures, so you may need to restart the system after the installation is
finished.

Note:
You will need to be able to access your rain gauge periodically to clean debris and possible insect nests. Please keep this in mind when mounting.

Can I test my rain gauge is sending the corrcet data?
Accuracy Test:
To test any La Crosse Technology rain gauge, follow these steps:
1. Erase the Total rainfall or make note of this amount.
2. Lift the cover off the gauge and tip the sensor action very slowly ten times.
3. Allow a minimum of 10 minutes for this "rainfall" to accumulate, and check the amount listed on the Total rainfall counter
4. Your total should be approx 5.18mm.
